IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR
ABOUT 'IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR'
Music and Text: Eddie Pola and George Wyle
Arrangement: Sam Cardon
Actor and songwriter Eddie Pola frequently collaborated with orchestra leader George Wyle to produce memorable songs from the 1950s and 60s, including a string of popular hits recorded by Doris Day. But their best-known song may be the Christmas classic first recorded by Andy Williams in 1963, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”
In this song, Pola and Wyle paint a charming, traditional portrait of Christmas, replete with caroling, Dickensian “ghost stories,” and convivial gatherings and mistletoe, to illustrate the magic of the season. This arrangement is by Emmy® Award-winning composer Sam Cardon.
